Roseanna Jane Willson was born in London, England, on 14 October 1765. She was christened at St Leonard's, Shoreditch, London, on 10 November 1765. At that time it appears the family were living in Kings Lane Road.

Her parents were English born John (c1735-?) and Wilhelmina Grace Willson who married c1752. Roseanna had a brother named John Willson who was baptised on 8 February 1753. It is possible that John and Wilhelmina Willson came to London from Northumberland.

On 30 June 1793, Roseanna married John Garmonsway at St Botolph's, Bishopsgate, London (England Marriages, 1538-1973). John was born in Stepney, London in 1770. They had eight children together, all of whom were baptised in London at either St Botolph's or St Leonard's:

  1. Francis G Garmonsway (1794-1876). Baptised at St Botolph's, Bishopsgate, London on 10 May 1795. He died, aged 82, in 1876 at Bethnal Green, London.
  2. John Garmonsway (1795-?). Born 30 December 1795 and baptised at St Botolph's, Bishopsgate, London on 10 January 1796.
  3. Richard Joseph Garmonsway (1797-1859). Born 20 March 1797 and baptised at St Botolph's, Bishopsgate, London on 16 April 1797. He died, aged 62, in 1859.
  4. Charles Garmonsway (1799-1863). Born in 1799 and baptised at St Botolph's, Bishopsgate, London on 28 April 1799. He married Sarah Ann Went in c1819. Charles died in London, aged 64, in 1863.
  5. Grace Garmonsway (1801-?). Baptised at St Botolph's, Bishopsgate, London on 19 April 1801.
  6. Thomas Richard Garmonsway (1803-?). Baptised at St Botolph's, Bishopsgate, London on 21 August 1803.
  7. Michael Garmonsway (1807-1808). Born on 13 April 1807 and baptised at St Leonard's, Shoreditch, London on 3 May 1807. Michael died, aged 1, on 28 June 1808 (England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975).
  8. Edward Watts Garmonsway (1809-1875). Born on 21 June 1809 and baptised at St Leonard's, Shoreditch, London on 9 July 1809. He died in New Zealand on 16 September 1875.

In June 1809 the family were living in New Inn Street, London.

Roseanna died as a pauper in a Shoreditch Workhouse on 5 February 1840.  She was buried at Shoreditch, London, on 8 February 1840.

John Garmonsway was dead by 1845.
