Neri Hori Ngarae Clark, known as 'Ned', served during World War I and was awarded the Military Medal.

Neri Hori Ngarae Clark was born in 1895 to George Clark. He was known as 'Ned'.

During World War I he served with the Auckland Infantry Regiment (3rd Reinforcement, NZEF).

On 7 September 1915 the New Zealand Herald reported that he had been wounded.

Ned received the Military Medal 'For gallantry in the attack on Grid Trench on 27th September 1916 when his position in the line was held up by wire and machine gun fire he rushed up to the wire and threw bombs into an empty trench. His action saved a critical  situation'.

Ned died, aged 84, on 27 February 1979. He was buried at Katikati Cemetery.
