Mostyn Aldborough Fleming (1879-1917) Died of Wounds: Ypres

Mostyn Aldborough Fleming was born in Mostyn Cottage, Arrowtown on 10 June 1879 (reg. 1879/8159). He worked as a town clerk for the Alexandra Borough Council before enlisting in World War I. Mostyn embarked from Wellington on 5 April with the 24th Reinforcements, Otago Infantry Regiment, D Company (Service Number: 36829). He was wounded at Ypres in Belguim, and died on 12 October 1917 (reg. 1918/72619).

Rhyl Vaughan Fleming (1887-1916) Killed in Action: Somme

Rhyl Vaughan Fleming was born in Lytleton on 16 December 1887 (reg. 1888/3619). He worked as a stock buyer before he enlisted in World War I, embarking on 8 January 1916 (Service Number: 9/1832). Rhyl was killed in action on 15 November 1916 at the Somme (reg. 1918/48779).

John Gideon Jamieson (1886-1918) Killed in Action: France

John Gideon Jamieson was born in Palmerston North on 29 August 1886 (reg. 1886/15279). His parents were Laurence (1850-1887) and Annie Jamieson (nee Reid, 1859-1939), of 'Pine Holm,' Awapuni in Palmerston North. John was an Auctioneer before enlisted in World War I (Service Number: 26/454). He served with the New Zealand Rifle Brigade, 4th Battalion. John was killed in action in France on 30 March 1918 (reg. 1918/79762).
