Tauranga Hauraki Regiment Volunteer Warena Mokopapaki Tapsell died from influenza at Narrow Neck Miliary Camp on 4 November 1918.

Warena Mokopapaki Tapsell was born in Tauranga on 24 January 1899. His parents were Kiri Tapsell and Pirihia Mokopapaki.

He was a Hauraki Regiment Volunteer and Auckland Grammar Old Boy.

On 18 October 1918 he enlisted, before attending the New Zealand Training Unit (Service No: 84744).

He died from influenza at Narrow Neck Military Camp on 4 November 1918, aged 19.
