Leslie Charles Kenney served at Gallipoli and on the Western Front. In 1921 he died from the effects of being gassed during the war.

Leslie Charles Kenney was born in 1891 to Henry James and Ellen Golston Kenney (nee White) (reg. 1891/2047). His parents lived in Brooklyn, Wellington. 

He was employed as a telegraphist when he enlisted at Tauranga (Serial No. 4/1057) as a Sergeant. Leslie embarked on 14 August 1915 with the 6th Reinforcements Field Engineers aboard either the Willochra or Tofua for Suez, Egypt.  He served at Gallipoli and on the Western Front.

He was admitted the hospital on 22 September 1916 as he had been gassed. He was discharged from the army on 16 December 1917.

Leslie died from the affects of being gassed on 1 April 1921.
