White cross for Arthur Offley Bell (1877-1915) .


Enlisting from Tauranga, labourer Arthur Offley Bell was killed in action at Gallipoli during the Battle of Chunuk Bair on 8 August 1915. He was aged 38. In 2014 Tauranga's 'Field of Remembrance' was created comprising 107 white crosses in memory of the men from the Tauranga area who died during World War I (1914-1918).
