Leslie Harvey Clark (1891-1915) was born in Tauranga in 1891 and was a plumber for the Tauranga Borough Council. On 8 August 1915 he was reported missing at Gallipoli during the Battle of Chunuk Bair. In 2014 Tauranga's 'Field of Remembrance' was created comprising 107 white crosses in memory of the men from the Tauranga area who died during World War I (1914-1918).
