Royal Artillery Insignia.


Royal Artillery insignia comprising a muzzle-loading 9 pounder field gun on grass facing left with a rammer resting against the wheel. Above is a scroll bearing UBIQUE (Everywhere), resting on which is an Imperial (King's) crown. Below the gun is an elaborate scroll bearing QUO FAS ET GLORIA DUCUNT (Where faith and glory lead) underneath which is R.A. standing for Royal Artillery. From the estate of Charles William Dixon (1909-2002) of the Royal Artillery who was injured in Italy during the Battle of Monte Cassino (World War II 1939-1945)Image: Maurice Charles and Ada Dixon.
