Fragment from note book by Gallipoli medic Bob Long

Elizabeth Rust came into the Tauranga City Library during the 2015 'Threads of Memory' project to tell us about her Irish grandfather Bob Long, who was captured by the Turks at Suvla Bay. He spent several years as a Prisoner of War (POW). This fragment was written from Gallipoli and ends with "Two days later. I expect death any minute, all my squad have been wiped out. We advanced too far in front of the trenches and the Turks are all around me in the rocks. Give my love to mother and tell her not to fret, Bob".
