Known as Gus Doctor of medicine When is wife died he left his children in the care of relatives and came to New Zealand ane was in the Hutt Valley during the Maori Wars Returned to England then back to NZ with his family in 1862 to Christchurch and practised as a Doctor . .Living in St Alburns He did remarry Introduced Marram Grass to the beaches at North Brighton Christchuch to contain erosion .
