Edward George Lecky fought in World War II. He was the brother of my first cousin twice removed's wife - Debbie McCauley.

Edward George Lecky was born in Waihi on 19 May 1902 [?]. His parents were Harry Francis and Sarah Jane Lecky (nee Earl) who married on 3 August 1901.

He appeared in a 1914 photograph of Waitekohe No. 3 School in Katikati which can be accessed by clicking here.

Edward served in World War II: NZDFPA 24122

Edward married Irene Alice Coppell in 1957. They had no children.

He died in Nelson, aged 67, on 29 January 1970 (reg. 1970/28153). Edward was buried in Marsden Valley Cemetery in Nelson.

Irene died in 1984. She was buried in Reefton Cemetery on the West Coast on 6 April 1984.
