Ronald Turner served in the Royal Navy during World War II. He was my husband's first cousin twice removed - Debbie McCauley.

Ronald Turner was born at Seaton Delaval, Northumberland, on 1 October 1920. His parents were Charles Philip and Margaret Alice Turner (nee Winter). Ronald married Margaret A Allport at Christchurch Parish Church, Felling, Gateshead, in early 1943. Margaret was born at Gateshead, Tyne and Wear in 1920. They had five daughters:

  1. Margaret Larraine Turner
  2. Marjorie Turner
  3. Joan Turner
  4. Christine Turner
  5. Carol Turner

Ronald served in the Royal Navy during World War II.

Ronald was employed as a fitter for Clarke Chapmans, Felling, Gateshead.  However in later years he was frequently sent to work for long periods at their factory in Wallasey, Cheshire, where they made ships winches. This meant long periods away from his family and he eventually moved his family to Wallasey in the 1960’s.  Ronald emigrated with his family to the Toronto area of Canada during the 1970’s.

Ronald Turner died in 2004 in the Toronto area of Canada.
