Alan Arthur Burcher was was a Signalman with the Australian Corps of Signals during World War II. He was taken as a Prisoner of War in Indonesia, dying of illness on 28 August 1945. Alan was my second cousin twice removed - Debbie McCauley.

Alan was the son of Edward Arthur and Florence Emma Irene Burcher (nee Smith), of Collaroy, New South Wales, Australia.

During World War II he served as a Signalman with the Australian Corps of Signals.

Alan was taken as a Prisoner of War in Indonesia. He died of illness on 28 August 1945.

Alan was buried at Ambon War Cemetery in Indonesia.
