The Granite Soldier and Stone Plaque at Pyes Pa Cemetery in Tauranga are together known as the Veteran Memorial. The memorial was unveiled on Sunday, 20 August 2008, as part of the 90th anniversary of the end of World War I (1914-1918). Text and photograph: Debbie McCauley (11 March 2015).
