Office of the Minister of Defence

WELLINGTON

4 December 1945

Mrs E. Anderson

77 Nixon Street

WANGANUI EAST

Dear Mrs Anderson,

I have received a letter from Mr. Jordan stating that you had been told of a report of a Pilot Officer J.G. McCauley, a New Zealander, being released from a Prisoner of War Camp in Poland.

I have had enquiries made, Mrs. Anderson, but there is no trace of a Pilot Officer J.G. McCauley in the Royal New Zealand Air Force.

A wireless message, however, has been sent to Air Ministry, London, requesting them to forward any information they may have, and immediately a reply is received it will be sent on to you.

Yours faithfully

F Jones [signed]

MINISTER OF DEFENCE
