The structure was designed by Nicola Cooke in association with Gert Christellar (Mick Christellar’s father) who had the idea of the five sided building as anthroposophically suited to classroom activities. The pentagonal shape reflects the classroom dynamics along with acoustic ceilings and rustic materials. Amo Spee of Co-Design took the floor plan from Gert and incorporated toilets and cloak-bays, completing the working drawings in consultation with teachers and the school community.

Building was carried out by Riverlee Homes and Construction and cost $180,000. The structure has been designed to be taken apart and moved to the proposed new school site at the top of the land. There are bolts down the middle to facilitate this relocation as well as incorporate later additions if necessary. During the building process a new septic tank was added and the concrete pad was laid for the netball court. In 2008 the classrooms housed Class 1 taught by Therese Brown and Class 2 firstly taught by Michelle Eades and then later by Emily Gullick.
