Environment Bay of Plenty put the building up for tender in 2004 and due to a $15,000 grant from the Bay of Plenty Community Trust it was secured by Waldorf School's Trust member Nicola Cook.

A deck and concrete courtyard were built around the building to link it to the School Library which is housed in the cowshed. This building is now used as the reception, administration area and staffroom for the Tauranga Rudolf Steiner School. In 2008 the school administrator was Sherryn Temara.
