Tauranga Waldorf School: The Cowshed (2007).

The school library building fondly known as “The Cowshed” in 2007. In 1989 sixteen acres of land were purchased at Welcome Bay, Tauranga, on which to establish the Tauranga Rudolf Steiner School. When the land was purchased the only building standing on it at that time was an old cowshed. This had been used as a sheep shearing shed and it took many days of hard toil by dedicated parents before it was in a usable state, ready to be converted into a classroom. The cowshed, along with two other buildings leased from the Ministry of Education, prepared the foundations of the school. Photo: Debbie McCauley (2007).
