The Pukehinahina Charitable Trust was formed in order to educate Tauranga and the nation about the Battle of Gate Pa, and to engage all through the events leading up to the 150th Commemoration on 29 April 2014.
Our Vision:

He whakaoho i Te Moana o Tauranga me te motu whānui ki ngā kōrero tuku iho e pā ana ki te pakanga o Pukehinahina, me te paihere mai i te whānuitanga o te tangata mā ngā kaupapa huhua tae noa atu ki te Whakamaharatanga 150 a te 29 o Aperīra.
Our Objectives:

To establish the Battle of Gate Pa as an occasion to be commemorated every year and remind ourselves of how far we have come as a community, and how far we have to go

Raise community awareness and understanding of the historical heritage associated with Gate Pa

Draw the community together through their shared legacy

Creating Community Heritage Sites available to the local community and visitors
