Colonel and Officers 68th Light Infantry Tauranga 1864. Soldiers of 68th Regiment, Durham Light Infantry at Tauranga 1864.From left to right: Bugler Smith Private Hurley, Lieutenant Robley (sitting), Adjnt Covey, Lieut Kay, Quarter Master Sladden (sitting).  Lieut Turner (sitting),  Dr Best, Colonel Greer (sitting), Major Shuttlewort (sitting), Lieut Woodward, Lieut Caldicott (lying down), Dr Alpin (sitting),  Captain Light, Lieut Greene (sitting), Lieut Ilderton, next with long beard name not known, Captain Cox (holding sword in left hand, Sergnt Major Tudor, Colour Sergnt Hemus.

Though similarthis is not the photo in The Durham Light Infantry Museum book(in V/F Battle of Gate Pa 68th DKI page 9.It is however reproduced in “Well done the 68th” by John Bilcliffe page 180. Here it is dated to early 1865.See also 00-591.Acc No 2333 Gifford MS84.
